Hey fellow wrestling fans! If you are interested in subscribing to new podcasts, I really recommend The Art of Wrestling with Colt Cabana. I have been listening to it non stop for the past week and I’ve fallen in love with it. Each episode is centered around having a conversation with another professional wrestler, and you really learn a lot of great things about the stories of these amazing men and women. For the fans like myself, I suggest the Zack Ryder episode—because I swear you’ll fall in love with him so fucking quickly (as if you weren’t already)—and the women’s wrestler episodes like Sara Del Ray, Shelly Martinez, Beth Phoenix, Lita and ODB.All have been great episodes and you really grow a new appreciation for these people because of all the hard work they do. Seeing Double? Anyone else felt a Rosa Mendes vibe from Maxine’s new ring gear? It’s still very uniquely Maxine—the V-waist of the pants is amazing—but I still think Maxine’s old ring gear was SO signaturely Maxine. Am I right?  Bring back the power gear, Maxine. It made your character stand out as a top diva. This, to be honest, makes you blend in too much and is a little bland. Don’t pull a Melina and, when all of a sudden she wore the darker gear at the end of her WWE career, make the character you’ve worked so hard for get plowed through by the other Divas!

What We Can Expect from Beth and Layla.

If any of you were watching last night, it’s official! Beth Phoenix will take on Layla for the Divas Championship. With this match coming up soon, let’s talk about what we might see that night.

I think this is gonna be a great pairing. We’ve seen many Divas battle Beth as the “underdog” or the “speedy” Divas to tackle the stronger Beth. We’ve seen bouts with Candice and Kelly, who were both not the strongest wrestlers, but managed to look great because of their veteran opponent. So I’m assuming Layla is in that same category, right? WRONG! I think we forget that Layla has not only wrestled Beth before, she also beat her for the Women’s Championship. Also, Layla has been with the company for a long time. Also, she’s wrestled a lot in those years. I really think Layla, like Eve, has grown into becoming one of the most solid wrestlers in the company. Her moveset is quick and spry, but different—it’s not your typical Diva quick moves like hurricanranas and head scissors. I think she will make the perfect opponent for Beth in two weeks.

Divas Take Cover: We haven’t had a Diva featured on a PPV poster like this before, so congratulations to AJ who we’ve seen recently to really take over our TVs in her amazing character development. She’s gone from geek goddess, to devoted valet, to now a torn woman. I think it’s a testament to her acting skills, for one, and the trust the company has on her potential and abilities. I think we can all agree that we’re all just waiting for what they do with AJ next. And, again, I think we can all agree that it will be huge, and will catapult the pint-sized Diva to permanent top Diva status.
